The Vineyards Story
The Vineyards Restaurant was originally a family home built by the Rumpel Family in 1845. Known as the Rumpel House, we know of three families that lived in the house with no plumbing or wiring from the 1930’s thru 1960’s.
At the time of its purchase by the Pirtle Family, the Weston Fire Dept, kindly offered to use it as a practice burn. And although the youngest Pirtle son Ross had grand ideas for opening an arcade, eldest brother Charles had visions of something that would put Weston and this little space on the map.
On October 1, 1984, he opened The Vineyards Restaurant. Originally opened as a delicatessen, it soon transitioned into fine dining restaurant that would come to host five star generals, many a romantic evening, celebrations, and the making of many memories and stories. The property has remained in the Pirtle family all these years.
We have taken time to lovingly restore this historic building adding some much needed space and updates, while still maintaining its character. We are returning to how it all began by providing a space for winery customers to have a bite to eat and make more memories over delicious food and drinks.
While we know that we cannot replicate the amazing dining experience provided by Charles we hope you find your visit enjoyable and appreciate the touches and hints of years past, woven into our menu.
Cheers!
